Not sure if a signature from Australia counts other than to show how far this news has spread

This is completely ridiculous and the student should be punished.

I hope justice is served! This student needs to be punished and the teacher never deserved to lose her job over someone else's disgusting behavior. Shame on this school district.

Protect teachers from cleptomaniac students!

Until the student is also punished for his direct actions that caused this, then this should not solely rest on Mrs. Arthur. He leaked it out to where other kids could get to it, and should be held accountable too!

This so called superintendent is simply reinforcing the "entitlement" generation. It's not their fault, ever.

I find it shameful that the school was not more supportive of teachers and that this student faced no discipline.

The student should be punished, not you.

But if it was Jennifer Lawrence they would just give her another Oscar. Don't missunderstand this, I respect the actress. What I don't respect is misoginy and patriarchy.

This was unfair to hold her as the guilty party due to the theft from a student. It is unfair and blame needs to be placed on the student and not the teacher.

I find the superintendents stance absolutely appalling. You sir are part of the problem. You are why our country is filled with entitled youth who do not take responsibility for their actions. The ones who point fingers and place blame on others instead of accepting responsibility and the consequences for their actions.

If this is the way a dedicated teacher is treated, it isn't a wonder that this nation is short on good, qualified teachers.

Firing a teacher when they are the victim is unacceptable.

This teacher has a right to privacy just like any other American. It's not like she posted these pictures herself, her phone was stolen. And this student, who committed a crime, is not facing any disciplinary action. Unbelievable! This is not the message we should be sending to our children.

Let's recognize the teacher is forgiving the student for making a bad choice. She did nothing wrong here. For once, how about someone in authority - i.e.: the Superintendent - admits they handled something poorly, and reinstate this woman's job. The world we live in requires wisdom and intelligence to pass judgement - maybe the district needs a new Superintendent?

This could happen to ANY teacher! The student who ILLEGALLY took the phone should be made to undergo psychological assessment as well as punitive action for the theft! I also hope that this boy is dealt with harshly by his fellow students if the school refuses to do so!

The school administration should be forced to resign for being morons.

Let people be human. Our lives should not be dictated by our jobs and employers. She is a wife, maintaining a relationship with her husband, I'm disappointed in the administration in not using this as an opportunity to teach students and the community about cyber bullying and personal privacy.

This is a travesty and needs to be righted immediately.

I hope that the superintendent sees how this issue has garnered attention across the world. He needs to re-visit his position and hopefully Mrs. Arthur can be reinstated. Thank-you for standing up for her and starting this petition.
