Bring Back Mrs. Arthur

Insane. Who on earth would think this was the teacher's fault? Oh, wait. Her bosses. Which one of them is the kid in question related to?

Eubanks needs to be fired, not her.

This defies logic, this teacher needs to be reinstated and the student expelled and prosecuted

I work in a high school...the teens are very clever and things disappear routinely. I can't believe that the phone was taken illegally, photos distributed illegally, and the teacher gets fired. Teachers would be fired all across the nation if we were held accountable for the bad choices of teenagers.

Get this officials name out into the voting community. He is the same kind of person who would blame a rape victim for the attack. Makesbyou think what has he done that would warrant a blatant disregard for a teacher victimized by this student and that child should be put in prison for releasing pornagraphy as a minor which is a federal crime.

This is a travesty of justice. She is being blamed for actions she could not prevent and the actions a student took. See the lack of sense in that and ratify it.

The school has just condoned theft and slander of a teacher by a student, the student should be made to make a public apology and be suspended or community service for his stupidity....Today stealing phones, tomorrow a car you don't let it go and You don't blame the victim ever, would you expel a rape victim and pat the rapist on the back, do you in-prison a gunshot victim and send the gunman on his way.... this action against the teach does so much damage to people who are victims afraid to come forward... and i am sure if this had happened to the Superintendent he would have expelled the student.... School is where students learn consequences for actions, its part of the schools job to prepare them for the real world....you have an obligation to students and teachers....one this superintendent has epically failed at...

I hope the student gets a more severe punishment.

Based on the report I read, Mrs. Arthur should NOT have been fired. This is not the 19th century or earlier any longer where teachers had to remain unmarried and such. She has an absolute right to privacy. The picture did not come to light due to inappropriate action with a student, but rather private communication with her own husband, which is hardly immoral. She should be reinstated with a full apology from the board and her full back pay as well.

If you don't teach your students responsibility for their actions now then they will grow up to support people like Trump!

From a fellow teacher in Homestead FL, I feel your pain and I'm sorry this happened to you. We are undervalued and stretched too thin but when this level of invasion occurs from a student whom you trusted to some degree, it is extremely disheartening. My thoughts are with you.

This is awful the student needs reprimanded so sad to hear a woman can't share pics with hubby without fear of being shamed by others who shouldn't even be involved...

BS, punish only the wrongdoer, not the victim.

And we wonder why women leave STEM? How about this kind of sexist treatment where a woman is victimized twice, while the victimizer is not held accountable at all?

This is despicable. Way to teach our young people to be responsible for their actions.

This is absurd. Someone steals property and violates privacy, but the victim is held accountable. While there are two very different issues here, Mr. Eubanks most certainly did not handle this one well. I question his leadership.

David Eubanks, based on his lack of actual understanding of privacy or common sense, should immediately resign from his role. He is obviously part of the problem at the school and why students are so carelessly using bad judgement.
