Instead of forcing your teacher to resign for doing what most happily married women do, you should've backed her up and did what my school did. Sit everyone down and do an entire lecture on cyber bullying and punish the little brat that took her phone because my school did not tolerate theft.
Let me ask you this, if you're home is broken into and robbed and some very personal things go missing are you at fault? I mean, you're not teacher this student to respect others or women by firing her and by allowing him to walk away. So when they become a total creep and pervert and violates more womens privacy I hope you can still sleep at night because you enabled this individual.
Give the woman her job back and go sit in a corner with a cone of shame and think about how you failed in you're job to teach students the difference between right and wrong.
Way to set standards high South Carolina.

The school's actions are pathetic and anyone who chalks this up to "boys will be boys" is feeding into the sexism ingrained in our school system.

It is a shame they let a mistake like this balloon out of control. Super intendent is obviously a man of little vision and inferior intelligence.

The superintendent should hand in his resignation. Clearly he doesn't have the critical thinking skills or common sense to be such an office. How can such an ignorant man run a school district? I fear for education of the children under his authority .

The school administrators involved in this teachers dismissal are pathetic human beings and as criminally guilty as that stain that visually raped his teacher in front of his entire school.

This is absolutely outrageous. The student is entirely at fault. Whatever private communications she sends to her own husband are their business, and certainly not the business of school administrators. It's the misogynistic David Eubanks who should be fired, not this teacher.

It is completely unreasonable and unacceptable to claim that it is a teacher's fault that the student may be facing consequences from law enforcement. The student needs to learn that he or she is responsible for their own actions, and will be held accountable. The rest of the students should be taught that it is not their fault if crimes are committed against them.

The Superintendent needs to be fired not the teacher. The resolution decided by the administration lacks common sense and shows poor management skills.

Amazingly inappropriate response to a theft of personal property and a violation of personal privacy. I call for Mr. Eubanks to resign.

As an educator I am appalled that this happened, she deserves her job back and a full apology from the school board!

"I think we have a right to privacy..." -David Eubanks.
Do you really think that David? Then why the hell aren't you punishing the student that violated Mrs Arthur's privacy? Not only did he access her phone without her permission, but he then proceeded to send it to other people. The students intent was malicious and you intend to punish the victim here? You're a disgrace, the way you handled this situation you should be the one to lose their job!

I hope the teacher gets a better job than with a backwards county school district like that. I am glad the student is remorseful, but I also feel that he only is because it blew up on social media and makes him look the idiot. Regardless, the school district looks the most idiotic because of this.

Superintendent, you are a poor excuse for a school leader. Shameful that you do not stand behind your employees when they are victims. Do I the right thing. Give this teacher her job back, and discipline the student for grossly violating someone's privacy. Do your job!

A student stole my phone and I felt completely violated. My school supported me and included me in the discipline process (I did not press charges) but it's a shame this teacher, who is already a victim, is being victimized even more by her District.
