The only person who needs to be dismissed is the interim superintendent. Apparently he's an idiot.

This teacher didn't do anything wrong. Her privacy was breached. Give her her job back.

I'm wondering if this hadn't gone public, would the student have been investigated. I commend this teacher for speaking out.

The facts that where given to me: she was stolen her phone, a student violated her privacy by putting private intimate pictures online. Her employer decided that it was her fault he phone was stolen, that she was negligent (wich seem a whole lot like a blame the victim because of how she was dressed kind of stupid bullship), fired her and gave no punishment to the student. If this is what happened, the manager of the schoolboard is the one who need to be fired!
As a psychology phd candidate who have worked with victims of sex crimes, i want us to send a clear message that everybody who blame victims are part of the problem!

Yet another ridiculous example of admins not having their teachers back. Students face no disciplinary action for invading their teacher's privacy. No wonder we have a teacher shortage in this country.

Shame on the school district for firing a skilled and competent teacher based on circumstances that were beyond her control. Shame on them again for not punishing the student, thereby reinforcing the notion that stealing someone's phone and using it to invade their privacy and ruin their career is somehow acceptable behaviorz

How is this even possible? Quit over-spoiling the kids! Too much leniency, not enough discipline.

I am outraged at the actions of Superintendent Eubanks. He should be removed. May Mrs Arthur's lawsuit prevail. We are tired of good old boys who protect themselves.

The teacher being punished for the students actions is absurd. He stole her phone and when shared private information/pictures. The kid is at fault, not the teacher.

This is astounding. I hope she files a wrongful firing lawsuit against the school district. I bet if the teacher would have been male they would have taken it seriously.

The student should be punished for stealing the teacher's phone and shared her photos online, which is an invasion of privacy!

This is a clear, and saddening example of how teachers are no longer held in the high regard they used to be. They are beaten down, over worked, given no help or aid, expected to give of their OWN time/money beyond what would be acceptable, and shown no respect. It seems the children are never in the wrong, and whenever there is an issue, the teacher is the scapegoat. I hope this can shed at least some light on a large scale issue. Good luck in this fight.

Insane to punish her for a thief stealing her property. This information was well hidden, he had to go looking for it after committing THEFT. What is wrong with this principal??

She shouldn't be dismissed for a student committing a criminal act, in stealing her phone and accessing her private details. Had the student stolen her bank details and shared that they would be facing a very different punishment.

Assuming the story has been accurately and completely described, then the school administration has ridiculously overstepped its bounds. The contents of her phone are her own, and their distribution through illegal means should not be used against her.
