As a fellow teacher, shame on those running this school. Shame. Ms. Arthur cannot possibly be blamed for this invasion; it's not like she left the classroom leaving pornography lying upon her desk. She left a highly private item, being her phone, which all should know cannot be touched.

Just another bad administrator blaming the teacher to cover his own butt. It's easier and safer than backing a teacher up.

Rediculous! The superintendent should be ashamed of himself. Also, his female family members should be aware he will not have their back if something like this ever happens to them. He must have a very poor outlook on women in general to go that far. I mean, come on....this is something she should be able to PRESS CHARGES FOR!!! Why punish the victim?! Awful, awful, awful asshat. Also, every female child in his district should now know where they stand in his eyes. If someone were to victimize them, chances are likely very good he'll find a way to blame them for it. He could deny thAt all he wants, but when push comes to shove, looks like he's pretty good at shoving...under buses...

The student is the one who should be prosecuted and expelled.

I think that it's absolutely disgusting that a teacher or any person would be fired for someone ILLEGALLY accessing someone else's phone and STEALING information from that device. THE SUPERINTENDENT should step down from his job. What the student did was ILLEGAL. I hope she buries the school department with a nice fat lawsuit and files a criminal suit against the student and the parents of the student. If it was reversed, who would be fired and face jail time?

It's not the teacher's fault. She should have her job back with back pay. Expell the student! He's a crook, and a pervert.

Way to punish the victim. Is it not bad enough that she had a personal correspondence made public?

It's disguising that theft of private, personal property would result in punishment of the victim. If she was a minor, the student would become a registered sex offender, but because her birthday is further in the past, she is punished. Disgusting.

Sad that privacy isn't extended to teachers. They are humans and shouldn't be expected to be "perfect"! It was her husband, and not some student.

As a teacher and a parent, this school is doing an injustice to the teacher and the student. Stealing an infringing upon one's private property is a crime!

The victim of a crime should not be punished. Period.
