Completely unfair that she was let go. The photo was not meant for the eyes of any student. Her phone was stolen and the boy who took it should be held responsible and expelled.

What a shame. The school district is showing that victim-blaming is justified and okay. I hope justice is served, the students get indicted, and the teacher is able to move on and get another job in the education industry. Shame on you Union County.

The FBI wants to make it easier for this to happen by weakening encryption. What will happen when our stuff is easily accessible to anyone and then posts it despite our attempts to protect it.

Holding a person responsible for being the victim of theft is completely ridiculous. We as a country don't punish victims of crimes, we punish the criminal(s). If you allow students to commit crimes against their teachers resulting in the termination of the teachers' employments you're going to set a very disturbing precedent and completely destroy the authority of teachers in their classrooms.

While I do not live in your area, I am a law enforcement officer. While I am a believer that there are three sides to every story (side A, side B, and the truth), the circumstances as portrayed indicate to me that a termination is an unacceptable punishment. I urge you to reconsider.

Employers do not have the right to discipline an employee over matters of her private life. Moreover, the student had to steal the phone to see these images. The school's response was positively asinine. I hope she comes out the victor in all of this.

This is just unbelievable. Another case of a victim being blamed for something that was done to her, and she faces all of the penalties, humiliation, and shame and none is befallen the student. This is exploitive sexual harassment and the school is enabling it. She needs to be reinstated and the student involved should be dealt with by law enforcement.

Glad he knows what he did is wrong but it's not enough. Perhaps he should share a nude of himself on social media, so it can be blasted all over the Internet when he's 18. Then maybe he'll respect others privacy for real. And know what it's like to try and find employment when his junk is there for all to see. His remorse is too little & too late. Sorry but that's the way it is...

When are we going to start holding these kids responsible for what they do? The student, without doubt, at his age of 16 knew he was violating a person's private property. Then to share his crime on the intenet? She is the victim in this situation! The student is the criminal!

To ofteb behaviors of students are blamed on teachers. A students misconduct should never result in the firing of the employee who was to supervisor them unless they broke a specific policy.

This superintendent is completely out of touch. How dare he blame a teacher who sent photos to her husband (as is her right) rather than punish a student who committed a virtual act of sexual harassment? What sort of lesson is being taught to this student, and others as well? The teacher deserves her job back, with missed pay, and the student should be at the least suspended. Theft, invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of mental anguish- are these the things you teach your students to do? Shame on you.
