This kid STEALS her phone, breaks into for private pics, and shares the pics & you have the gall to fire her?!?!? The school should be ashamed!!!! The school is clearly in the wrong! This poor lady! SMH!

I hope the school district does the right thing and gives this teacher her job back. After all, how easy is it to come by a mechanical engineering teacher? And a female one at that?? You are wasting resources, opening up yourselves for a pricey lawsuit, plus costs to find a replacement. People are not expendable, especially in a high school. Punish the little psycho who showed his true colors - those of a snake

Mr Eubanks ... all information given indicates that the teacher was helpful to her students. Her assistance was poorly rewarded by the an invasion of privacy.
We the public condemn the courts when they blame the victim, but that is exactly what you have done.

My god the puck stole a phone and the teacher gets fired. No wonder kids are being are sent the wrong message. Rehire her and suspend the student. I also recommend she sued the kid

This is ridiculous. It is asinine to bkame the teacher for a student stealing her phone, rifling through it, and sending out a picture that we would not have had access to had he not stolen her phone and invaded her privacy

The teacher is not at fault. The student should be disciplined on multiple levels but since I am not an authority figure, I will leave his repercussions up to those that are. I am glad he feels remorse, and I understand people do mistakes. In this instance, the teacher did not make a mistake, nor has she done anything that warrants the punishment laid down to her. This superintendent is obviously approaching this in some sort of political way but certainly doesn't represent the people's will.

As a school administrator I am appalled at the way my colleagues are handling this situation. I do believe it is the responsibility of the district to establish rules regarding teacher conduct but to administer no consequences for the student shows lack of skill on the part of the admin staff to set appropriate behavioral standards for students. If this young adult were to do this in a work place situation he would be in violation of the law and subject to termination.

1. She should have had the phone locked.
2. The young adult (notice adult) STOLE the phone.
3. He then took property off the stolen device and deceminated it to others (a second crime).
4. He should be held accountable for two crimes, his next..whenever it occurs, should be his final strike.
