Student did a terrible thing, should be disciplined by the school but ultimately forgiven. No need to involve police. Teacher did absolutely nothing wrong. Only person whose professionalism should be called into question here is the interim superintendent David Eubanks. He sounds like an arrogant, judgemental little weasel.

The actions of the Union SC school board are an embarrassment. This couldn't have been handled worse. The interim superintendent should resign, apologize, and decline to be seen in public in future. Awful.

This has got to be one of the worst cases of victim-blaming I've ever seen. It's absolutely sickening to think that someone could be fired for having their PRIVATE information leaked. I wonder what the superintendent would've said if the student had posted her social security number or bank pin online instead. Smh, if she wants her job back, she should be able to get it, but idk why she would after this huge slap in the face. My thoughts and prayers go out to her.

Stupid mistake by teacher. illegal act by student. Superintendent is just covering his own ass. He should be help accountable. From the top down!
Anyways, she made a stupid mistake. It should not cost her, her job. I hope she sues the school, the county, the superintendent, and the student's parents.
He should be charged as an adult. He knew damn well what he was doing and this pictures are forever on the net. Hurting her and her family forever!
If anyone should be fired (forced to resign), it should be the superintendent.

What had this world come to when a child steals personal property and the victim gets blamed. The superintendent should be ashamed of himself. Disgusting!!!

This is a blatant use of power against a female, making her take the blame for an illegal act perpetrated by a student. She is the victim and did not deserve to be forced to resign. The Interim Superintendent has abused his power, and has obviously no idea what he is doing.

We didn't blame any of the celebs when their phones got hacked and their private photos where leaked, so why would we blame the teacher she is the victim here. Fix your way of thinking cause you are teaching the wrong thing SC district

This is disgusting... The interim superintendent needs to go back and realize the student is at fault... He shouldn't be in that position as he is allowing his personal and old views into his decision making!

Ms Arthur is not at fault here. Her personal property was taken without her permission and the powers in charge are blaming her? Typical of public school administration. Given a choice they will always find a way to blame the teacher.

I live in Canada. I've never met this teacher. I've never been to this school.
I am 16 years old, which is the same age as the student at Union County that shared the photo.
None of this is being handled in a professional manner. Unless the photo was easily accessible on the phone, and seen by a student unwillingly without searching for it, she should not be held responsible at all.
This is disgusting. Please re-hire her, of if this is not achievable, make this story heard so that the public is aware of how awful this school is, and to let other potential employers of Mrs. Arthur aware that her punishment is not legitimate.

Why blame the teacher for a student's wrongdoing? She should not lose her job, the student is the one who should be punished.

Teachers are such a valuable asset and should not be discarded as such.
