This a joke that the child is not being disciplined, this poor woman shouldn't have to put up with being publicly shamed and fired for something intimate she shared with her husband, what a farce!

What's said between a married couple is between them, even via text. Forcing a resignation on one of the good teachers in this country is disgusting. You should be using this experience to educate your students. That's like firing some one because they were photographed in their own home unbeknownst to them in a private moment. Victim shaming is repulsive and WRONG. Stealing a phone is so different from supervised use for educational purposes, I do the same in a preschool/aftercare program to teach my students about things not readily available except by Internet like how dogs drink backwards in slow motion. Is not the same if someone STOLE the phone.

Students need to be taught that breaching someone's privacy and spreading things that are meant to remain private is absolutely NOT okay. The school district's superintendent ought to be ashamed of himself.

Mr. Eubanks, YOU are an interim superintendent. Mrs. Arthur is not an interim teacher and has been the victim of a crime. It will become apparent to the perpetrator as time goes on just what he has caused. A stupid kid doing stupid things. You really shouldn't exacerbate this incident with a bad decision to terminate a teacher. A TEACHER! Can a TEACHER really be expended like that for something that is not a crime but for which she is the victim of one? Re-instate her, if an interim superintendent can do that. You can't just dismiss the petition. It's a PETITION. It's what people can lawfully do ( and do when they are trying to be respectful to an office, instead of breaking down doors and so on) to express their disagreement with an action. The disagreement I have is with your action regarding this matter.

This School District and representative should be ashamed of themselves. That student should be held directly responsible since he is a THEIF! If I caught this kid stealing things from the store I work at he would have gotten a $200 fine, and jail-time! Bring her job back and compensate her for your poor decisions and expel the student with no chance of receiving a GED for 10 years! That will teach him!

Pictures on her phone are her own private business. The student was very much in the wrong here not the teacher. The teacher should not be punished for the misbehavior of the student.

The only breakdown in authority that I can see is with Mr Eubanks. He's not doing his job. It's hard enough to find good, dedicated teachers. Lack of proper professional support like this is not helping to find more, not does it encourage others to enter the career.

Student should be charged with theft, ID theft and what ever else they can get him on then expelled. The superintendent needs to be fired for not caring about whats legal and moral and just stupidity.

As a fellow teacher, I am extremely disturbed to hear that a school district is condoning this type of behavior from their students. The fact that the student isn't receiving any sort of disciplinary action only further encourages other students to act out in the same way. The school district should be supporting its teachers, not shaming them.

Blaming the victim of theft and an humiliating breach of privacy is unacceptable. Reinstate the teacher post haste otherwise the district is liable to a lawsuit. The superintendent has crossed a line.
