This administrator ought to be fired for firing the teacher. How is that student entitled to access someone's phone? Can teachers similarly look through students' lockers even when students haven't done anything to warrant suspicion? Ms. Arthur deserves her job back.

How can you punish a teacher for the action (theft!) by a student and not punish the student for his own deeds? Totally the wrong way around and pretty backward.

Teacher did nothing wrong. Your phone is private, like your home! She did not post pics, for the world to see.

I'm sure the superintendent has some things he'd rather keep private. Would he be willing to be fired should his private life be exposed as a result of a crime? Do unto others, as the saying goes.

Unbelieveable. If I were the teacher, I would file charges against the student. What if he also accessed her online bank account and stole her money? Give her her job back, and expel the student.

A phone is private. If teachers cannot have photos on their private phones than there should be a protocol in place for all the teachers. The school should provide lock boxes for every teacher to put their phone in.
