What has been done to this teacher is shameful. From what I have read, she is an amazing and dedicated teacher. Who would want to become a teacher after hearing what happened to her and then how she was treated? Teachers like her deserve more support.

A petition needs to be started seeking termination of the school's superintendent. Such an obvious failure in judgment is indicative of the competency of this person. Unfortunately, many of our "leaders" cannot distinguish right from wrong anymore.

Mrs. Author is not the criminal. Regardless of where she was at the time the crime was committed, the school administrator's and district should still support her.

Completely ridiculous to fire a teacher for an invasion of privacy committed by a student.

Union County school officials have clearly sent the message to their students that they are in charge by disciplining their teacher and not the student. If that is the case why have any administration at all?

She was well within her rights to privacy. The only person who has broken laws and regulations here is the student in question.

the interim superintendent should be fired immediately and the student charge with theft invasion of privacy, fraud, among many other crimes that he actually committed -- as for a superintendent saying "we all make stupid decisions at 16"...this statement shows a lack of understanding for the gravity of student decision making, apathy for crimes committed on his campus, and misconceptions surrounding his actions as he clearly is in denial of his own negligence towards protecting his employees

Stupid school administrator. They should have supported the teacher and not the student. That student need to be punished and deal with the consequences!

"Stupid is as stupid does." What's the moral lesson, here? There isn't one. One's property should be private; that privacy was violated. This is precisely how the teacher's fault?

Leigh Anne Arthur is the victim of a terrible injustice, she should be reinstated and the student should be suspended/expelled.

Extremely crooked logic.
