Until consequences for this type action are meted out to the student this activity will not stop.
Even if she had allowed a student(s) to use her phone this does not give them carte blanche to steal and re-post photo's. As she, by copyright law owns the photo she could prosecute the punk for copyright infringement.

At the very most, I could see the school having a talk with Mrs. Arthur, urging her to keep her phone locked (using a pin code) in the future - but other than that, they should stand by her and recognize that she is the victim in all this! Her privacy was violated when that student actively searched through her phone / camera app to look for Mrs. Arthur's private photos, and when these images were posted online / shared - that amounts to a serious crime committed by this student!
Teachers, like Mrs. Arthur, are heroes - they take care of our kids and give them the tools they need to be successful in life. Teachers do this - even though the pay is crap for the amount of responsibility, stress, and pressure that comes with the job - because they love our kids and they want to make a difference, for our kids and for our society. And how is Mrs. Arthur rewarded for her efforts? She does one little thing "wrong" (wrong according to the school) by leaving her phone unattended for a little while, and she is fired! Her privacy is actively and knowingly violated - she is a victim of a crime - and she is fired...!
Shame on you for treating one of our heroes this way!

Clearly her privacy was violated. David Eubanks has no possible reason to blame the victim. In this regard he has committed a greater crime than the 16 year old. He should be charged with wrongful dismissal, sexism in the workplace. He should be fired without severance. And it should be done immediately or the school board should be replaced as well.
