This disctrict is backwards thinking. By not punishing the student they saying that it's okay for the students to continue to steal other people's property and share any of the information contained within that property.

Victim blaming at its finest. No wonder the teaching profession is bleeding its best and brightest--they're disrespected and betrayed at every possible opportunity, legitimate or not. This teacher had a reasonable expectation of privacy; that privacy was violated. Why is the student not facing school disciplinary action?

The superintendent is completely wrong in dismissing the teacher. He himself now should be held accountable for doing a poor job and basically encouraging young charges to do wrong and not get punished

That isn't fair.

Bring her back and expel the student. He needs to be held accountable for his actions.

No wonder kids are out of control today in the classroom when those running the schools have their heads up their ass like this gentleman! Go after the student. He is the one that did wrong and they should make an example out of him for the others to learn from.

The district's behavior is shameful, and as an attorey, I would be surprised if it's also actionable. I would urge Arthur to seek representation in her state.

If this had been a male teacher he would've gotten paid leave to get over his embarrassment. This school district is a joke.

Student should be disaplined by school. Doing nothing will encourage more bad behavior.

Shame on you, David Eubanks. You could've used this opportunity to teach the student an important life lesson, instead you threw the teacher under the bus. Get rid of this outdated guy, what a disgrace to education.

Not only are the school's actions deeply unfair and immoral, but they are also quite foolish. It seems to me that Ms. Arthur has a strong legal case against the school. If they refuse to reinstate her, I hope she takes them to court.

Set the right example for your students and reinstate this teacher. She did nothing wrong.

Not only reinstate Arthur, but sue the district for retaliation, and slap that student in handcuffs. If this were an ex-lover that retaliated by distributing private photos, then he'd be fined and see jail time. How dare they blame the victim!!

Victim-blaming must stop.
