There is no reason this teacher should have been fired. She never asked the student to get into her personal files, nor to post them. By doing this, you are telling other students, who may not have family and friends to tell them this is reprehensible, that all they have to do is find a way to post personal materials and get a teacher fired; all with no repercussions.

To the superintendent: If you stepped out of your office and a student went through your computer and stole personal property of yours - perhaps a personal letter to your wife - and then published it on line, would you feel the need to resign? If not, then you have no right to ask this teacher to resign.This teacher's right to privacy was violated. Her phone is her personal property and it was stolen. Shame on you for making things worse! We need to help protect each other's privacy, not punish someone who's had their privacy violated!

it was only a few years ago that i left high school, and i can totally see how this is DEFINITELY NOT HER FAULT, as much as teachers can try to stay in the classroom at all times it is not always possible. and what if this was a different situation? what if instead of a teacher it was just a random person (and same with the student) the person whos photo was distributed would not be blamed and punished as it is their privacy that has been compromised. the person who leaked the photos would be held accountable for their actions. this should not be any different just because it happened in a school. she should be offered her job back (although she might not want it after the way she has been treated) and should receive the most sincere apology possible. the schools handling of this situation has been disgusting

Whatever was on her desk and in her phone had nothing to do with him and he should have never messed with it and invaded a persons privacy.Maybe if this kid had a more disciplined life at home it would not had reflected so badly at school.

The child should be prosecuted. The teacher should be able to sue the school district and the parents for his misconduct! I support the adult!

I am really disappointed in the reasoning from the Superintendent. Teachers are in a battle everyday against these kids and to respond the way he did, I think he's the one that should be let go. He certainly has lost the respect and support of most of his entire teaching staff with his decision!
