Absolutely ridiculous!

Really? They forced her to resign for being a theft victim and having her privacy invaded. It's unconscionable!

She should not be punished because a student used her phone in an unauthorized way.

Union County School District's interim Superintendent David Eubanks act to fire Leigh Anne Arthur must be rescinded.

This is unacceptable. As a teacher, I am very horrified that the district would do this to a teacher. Is there no union to stand up for her?

How ridiculous! Teachers have private lives! She broke no laws! The behavior of the student however...And what would the school's action have been had it been a male teacher I wonder...

Give her, her job back and prepromand the student and suspend the Superintendent for his stupidity and lack of leadership.

A student steals a teacher's phone, publicly humiliates her by posting a private photo -- and SHE gets fired? For what? Being naked in private? While your school system allows the student to get off scot free. Shame on you. Is this the attitude toward teachers and women that you want to model for your students? If this is how you treat your teachers, your school system deserves to fail.

I would personally like to tell David Eubanks that he is everything that is wrong with how we are teaching the next generation. What has happened to accountability? To owning up to doing something wrong and being punished for it? To supporting a teacher's personal property? If she had $1,000 on that desk, he should not have touched it. Period. It is a sad day when a person of authority like Mr. Eubanks is allowed to make this troubling decision. A sad day indeed.

What he did is known as theft. Which if you actually educated the students of todays generation. You would know is illegal

That teacher didn't do anything wrong. It just shows that kids these days have no respect for someone else's personal property, some kids are getting so disrespectful and stealing everything they lay their hands on, they'd probably steal the sugar out of your coffee. It's the teacher I feel sorry for, her privacy has been invaded and she's been humiliated and publicly embarrassed,God knows how many people have seen that picture, the only person who should have seen that picture is the person it was intended for, her husband. The kid/thieving brat is the one who should be punished, charged with theft and anything else the law can throw at him. Give the teacher back her job, her dignity and self respect. It's disgraceful the way this woman has been treated!!!

I. It was her phone. Her private property. Even if she had previously let students use her phone, they weren't permitted to look for and share her pictures. 2. It was her husband. Not a boyfriend, student, or fling. Her husband. The man she loves. 3. The school needs to punish the student. He violated her privacy and her trust.

Thank you to the organizers who put this issue forth and gave that teacher support and dignity as she has done nothing wrong. I'm sure the student at fault has learned his lesson, but now it is the administration and institution that is failing society by pointing wrongful blame on a victim. Good luck to all parties!
