Being an educator myself, this is ridiculous. All you are doing is feeding into a system that takes away what little power the teachers in the classroom have. They can't discipline students as it is, all they can do is send the students to the office where they are summarily sent back to class with no more than a slap on the wrist. This happens everywhere; so why not take a step in the proper direction and punish the student and while you're at it, find the exact bylaw that says teachers are not entitled to privacy.

This school districts behavior is unacceptable. Arthur has the right to share private things with her husband and expect her privacy to be protected. Not punishing the student is unacceptable.

Mrs Arthur committed no crime, so why has she been fired from her job? The student who stole Mrs Arthur's phone and was disrespectful enough to access its contents should be disciplined for such unacceptable behavior.

She should have had a password. But she didn't deserve the bible belt smackdown.

The fault lies with the student who stole and searched her phone, not the woman who shared private pictures with her own husband.

You are completely wrong in blaming this teacher. Taking the phone was out and out theft of personnel property and then using it to commit a crime. Then you punish then innocent teacher. What are you an idiot

That kid should be arrested.

Mrs Arthur is not only the victim of theft but also the victim of a sex crime. This is absolutely disgusting treatment, shame on the school district.

This is a horrible act that is typical of the problem today with every criminal being a "victim". Mrs. Arthur should be brought back immediately and with full back pay. The superintendent should be fired today with no severance pay. The student should be thrown out of school forever.

This is good time for these students to learn about personal responsibility and victim blaming. Firing the teacher for having a personal life that was intruded upon and SHARED by a student is absolutely the wrong way to do that.

This is wrongful termination and they need to reinstate her. She was victimized by a student and the school fires her for it. Shame on this school board and I hope you get voted out in the next election.
