The student broke the law, not the teacher. Reinstate her with full pay and position. Remove any derogatory marks pertaining to this incident from her personnel file.

We all have a right to privacy. Her property was stolen, her privacy violated, and the response was to force her to resign? Unacceptable!

This is infuriatingly simple; reprimand the student and those that invaded this poor woman's privacy, and give her back her job or a significant severance. The school's course of action is unfathomable.

Everyone has a right to sexual privacy in the digital age, including teachers as well as students. Police are not God.

She could have left a Polaroid on her desk and while THAT would have justified the school's response it still would not have justified the student's action. People have an absolute right to expect others to respect their property. Just because it's available doesn't mean you can take it as your own!
The students that shared these private photos should be expelled and the Teacher should be reinstated!

The teacher should be reinstated with back pay, and the student who stole her phone should be punished. The principal is weak. If this case goes to court, the teacher will surely win.

This case is a clear cut example of an invasion of privacy. She should be reinstated.

While I think it was irresponsible of Mrs. Arthur to keep her phone unguarded, it should not be considered a crime. The student violating her privacy committed a crime and should be charged!

It is absurd that Mrs Arthur was asked to resign and that the child has not been expelled! Inexcusable! Mrs Arthur has been victimized and her employer is encouraging her victimization!

It could happen to anyone obviously but to take away her job over this is absolutely ridiculous. Why should she have to suffer further? Hasn't she suffered enough humiliation? Id sue the school system. Sorry tax payers.

Flabbergasted that the school district would act in such a cruel way after Ms. Arthur was sexually harassed by the student. She did nothing that was legally or morally wrong, or that was any of the school district's business. The school administration should give her her job back and then enroll in the first grade so they can learn about treating others with compassion.
