I do not live in Florida but I view this situation as one more example of what is wrong with school systems in our country. Is it any different than as if he had stolen from her purse? The phone is her personal property and he should be punished for stealing from it!

This is obviously the fault of the student! I strongly believe this is a gender issue and hope that Mrs Arthur is allowed to return to school and that the student is severely punished.

Shame on the school district for even one MOMENT thinking that the teacher should be forced to step down because one of its students violated the law. Union County High, if this is how you treat your staff, I don't know what to say except I'm glad I'm nowhere near you, and I'm sorry for your students because what lesson are you REALLY teaching, here?

I never signe an online petition for anything but I feel compelled to sign this one because it's the right thing to do for this teacher.

She had every right to have the pictures on her phone. This was private between a husband and wife.Punish the student. Being 16 is no excuse.

Bring her back, suspend the student. We are always appalled when we see a woman in the middle east being punished for being raped or objectified. How is this different? The student took something from her that was sexual in nature and she is being punished. Do the right thing before the rest of the country turns on you, because they will.

To me, Dr. Eubank's response is an example of sex crime victim blaming in the digital age. He's the one who should resign.

The student should be expelled and prosecute for theft and whatever crimes that are on the books. and the teacher should be reinstated.

And the kid gets away with this??? She should get a good lawyer and sue the school and the kid and his or her parents for all they have. Why is it no matter what a kid does it is all well and good. Liberals are destroying society. But not to worry this is their utopia..

Lots of love from Ontario, Canada. It's not her fault and the love from her students is tremendous! The school board is punishing the wrong people here.

Please post a go fund me link to raise money for this woman's legal defense. I'd gladly donate money to help her sue the school district.

The thief should be arrested for disseminating sexual material to minors.

When someone is a victim of theft and harassment, you're supposed to go after the perpetrators, not fire the victim from her job. A totally inappropriate reaction like this is not only unjust, it sends a terrible message to students about what constitutes acceptable behavior.

If the teacher had given the photo out it would have been one thing, but a picture for her husband that was stolen by a student should not be grounds for dismissal. Especially if said teacher has had a shining record prior.
