Disgraceful way to behave. You should be punishing the thief, not persecuting an innocent woman

No different than if the student had broken into her house.

The pupil should be expelled and the teacher reinstated.

What a ridiculous situation. Everyone should have their privacy. I hope that student learns what the word respect means...

Would the same action be taken if there was a teacher/student gender reversal? Protect your staff, teach privacy laws and remember, theft is a serious crime.

In such case the student is to blame; students have no right to grab anything from the teacher's desk... This is a type of abuse against teachers, and against women. It is cruelty.

It is the student that must be punished not her

This school's leadership is rewarding theft and the trolls of society who seek to steal and shame those they can. The superintendent should be fired, not the teacher.

It was her private device. It was stolen. Shame on the thief, shame on the ones who think she shouldn't be working there anymore. Wonder how those would feel if it was their phone that stolen?

Reinstate the teacher! Punish the student.

The student should be punished for this, not the teacher. This is absurd.

She should not be punished for sexist attitudes that make young people feel entitled to objectify and demean a woman in a professional role. School children should not be taught that women should feel shame if their bodies are revealed against their will, but should be taught that it is not alright to access private content against someone's will and/or without their knowledge.

The student should be suspended immediately, not the teacher!

This adult has a right to her privacy. This situation is no different than if the student snapped a picture of the teacher changing in the locker room. I hope that someone will provide clear thought and come to their senses and punish the behavior that clearly call for punishment, and not punish the victim.

It is not the teachers fault that this little punk STOLE her phone.

Letting this teacher go is absurd and a dangerous attack on privacy. The student should be punished, not the teacher, who has no doubt learned her lesson already, i.e. To secure her device. Your decision in this matter is embarrassing to what America stands for.

Personal responsibility of photos was owner of phone. Phone should not have been available in classroom. Illegal acquisition of phone and sharing of photos needs to be punished. (These acts should be dealt with as those of an adult.)

This is absurd. Teacher victimized twice.
