The students are not better served by teaching a young man that his actions have no consequences and allowing him to destroy an educator's career. A reprimand is appropriate, but NOT firing her! Show some intelligence about this!

This student should be punished. A grown adult woman is allowed to send any pictures she pleases to her husband. This is so invasive. I wish the best for Mrs. Arthur regardless if she goes back to teaching or not. No woman should have this done to her.

privacy means that nobody should take your phone without your permission. The student is the one who should be suspended. The teacher should receive a warning because you can't leave your phone unlocked if you have private pictures on it.

What a horrible thing to do to this woman that has done nothing wrong. This was a violation of her privacy.

This is sending a wrong message of respect of privacy. Also, it's telling it's ok for a student to steal a teachers phone and share her information, photos, etc.

These are the kinds of decisions by school leadership that embarrass me as an educator. Who is really contributing to the delinquency of a minor here? Seems to me it is Dr. Eubanks.

Reinstate this teacher, prosecute this student to the fullest extent. David Eubanks - Stop shaming women. If this student had ripped Arthur's shirt off of her and exposed her body, would you still punish her for 'inappropriateness'? Let's turn the tables on you, Eubanks: If a student went through your phone and found a history of porn and pulled it up, what would you do then? I bet you would say that this student violated your rights.

This is an assualt by the student on Mrs Arther, he should be expelled and charged with sexual assault, she should be reinstated.

All communication devices are private property. Leigh Anne Arthur, please stand up for your rights and thank you for forgiving him, although????.

This woman did nothing wrong. The pupil is a theif and deserves to be treated as such. To not know any better shows the pupil to have bad parents. I would like to see the pupil removed and sent to another school. A fair punishment.

Not only does Ms. Arthur need to be reinstated, but the student who violated her privacy should be punished. Failing to do so sends the absolute wrong message about respecting the property and privacy of others.

This is a perfect example of rape culture. She is being told that her invasion of privacy and objectification is her fault. Let's teach our male students that they are responsible for their actions!

A travesty of justice. The student MUST be held accountable for his theft,, invasion of privacy, distribution of photos that were not his and horrendous lack of judgement. The teacher deserves her job back, a deep and sincere apology from all who forced her resignation, and battle pay for having to deal with this insane outcome. In addition, the Principal should be required to resign as it appears it was his poor judgement that created this situation.

The interim superintendent's attitude makes me ill. The pictures on her phone were not "garbage" as so many have described. She can have anything (that's legal) that she wants on HER phone. I hope she goes after the school and the kid. If recent lawsuits (think celebrities who have had photos stolen and shared) are any indication, she will win in a heartbeat. Good luck!

What is happening here fails natural justice.
