I wonder if the student is related to someone on the school system. It doesn't make sense that the student was not disciplined for his actions. Based on how the story reads, it seems the student didn't think he was going to get in trouble in any way.

The fact that the school is not only punishing a teacher for having her private property stolen, but is indeed legitimizing the sexual harassment perpetrated by the thief by making clear that they believe her private conduct to be shameful, is grotesque.

The students of Union County Career & Technical Centre would be better served by the retention of a dedicated educator. Union County School Districts'/Supt. David Eubanks' decision to remove Ms Arthur is appalling. Students are being denied a caring teacher. The teacher is being denied a reasonable expectation of privacy and assurance(s) that personal property is safe from theft and/or unauthorised use. The person ultimately responsible, THE STUDENT (who should face expulsion or a minimum of suspension for the remainder of the school year, and applicable criminal sanctions for theft and unauthorised use of a telecommunication device), is reinforced with the sense of exemption from consequences for his actions. The Districts' actions are void of any constructive purpose(s). Students - Stand by your teacher and do her proud!
