Absolutely ridiculous that this teacher has even been reprimanded. She did NOTHING wrong. The student should not only be expelled for what he did, he should be sued civilly and should face criminal charges. The superintendent has to have his head to far up his ass to make a decision like this that I question his ability to run this school district.

What happened to teaching students to respect their instructors? What happened to discipline for violating personal property? This is simply sad.

This was a private photo. Her privacy was invaded and she should sue the kid who exposed this privacy..

What a complete miscarriage of justice! Back in the day this kid would have been arrested as a hacker and been charged. You know the bank just leaves all that money in the drawers at the teller windows....

Perhaps it might be more appropriate for David Eubanks to resign his position as superintendent. And where are the boy's parents in this situation?

When will we stop punishing teachers for students' mistakes?

As a SC native, I am very upset by David Eubanks actions with this unjust "letting go" of a teacher. The STUDENT is in the wrong here and should be charged with theft. Mr. Eubanks, if I came into your home and left with something that wasn't mine, then posted it online for anyone to see what would you do? Say, "oh well, I shouldn't have had that around in the open" and let it go or would you call the police on me? I think I know the answer to that question.

I am not a student, but can suggest something a student might not be able to: The one who should resign is the superintendent! What a combination of prudishness, injustice, and downright stupidity.

There is nothing illegal about having a picture of yourself on your own phone. The student engaged in a criminal act, violated the privacy of another human and the victim is being punished. I cannot comprehend the "logic" that ended with this conclusion.

The student must be punished for his actions and the school must be sanctioned for it's improper judgement and reaction in this matter!

I can understand her having to resign, even of she wasn't forced too she may have ended up doing so because of the humiliation. But for the kids to not be punished? That's appalling.
She should be brought back and the other kids, and all kids to are cruel to her be punished.

This is what is wrong with society today. The kid stole her phone and invaded her privacy and she is the one punished. Ridiculous!!!

This is a blatant invasion of her privacy. They student should be the one being dismissed. He disrespected her privacy. If she had left her house unlocked and a burglar entered and stole her TV, it would still be burglary.

If I leave my house unlocked and go away, does is that an express permission for any body to use and abuse at their guise?
This is a totally dumb decision.
The student in question should rather be expelled for doing what he did.

I think the teachers should get her job back, I also believe the student in question should be punished, it is theft of intellectual or photographic images that are private. The student wasn't given permission to go into this phone and it is no different than taking somebody's valuables when the door of the apartment is unlocked.all I can say is she should lock her phone but not be locked up out of a job.
