David Eubanks should have his head examined as the victim is made the offender and the offender is made innocent? Shifting the blame to the blameless is a big problem in this country and of this generation.

Saw this on DailyMail and it made me very mad! I am from Kansas City and I came to look for this petition to sign it!

Absolutely absurd, her privacy was invaded by a 16yo child that had no right to take her personal property. I wouldn't return to that job either, if I was asked to resign and no punishment dulled out to the perpetrator. But something should definitely be don't to ensure that boy doesn't get away with what he's done.

I just heard about this story and strongly support Mrs Arthur in this situation. Taking personal photos and/or leaving a phone unlocked is no reason for being terminated. I would seek legal action against the student. There was a malicious intent by the student in this case. The superintendent David Eubanks also sounds like a complete fool for not protecting his teachers from students that had a harmful intent. If this student had a history or inappropriate actions, I would completely sue the school system for wrongful termination. The student is a loser and in the real world, that type of behavior will only him land in jail. Stay strong Mrs Arthur and thank you for being an amazing teacher.

This is infuriating. When else have we ever blamed a victim of theft for theft content of the theft. The student(s) responsible should face disciplinary action, and Mr. David Eubanks should also face disciplinary action for his handling of the situation. If it had been her personal information or something of a non-sexual nature, would his response have been the same?

This is so unjust. The child that did this should be punished.

This is unthinkable, the person who committed a crime goes unpunished and the innocent person is found guilty. Fire the school officials for this injustice served!

Absolutely ridiculous, how do you figure the teacher should be punished in this scenario?

Victim-blaming at it's core. What's next, telling sexually attacked female students that 'boys will be boys'?

I am from Australia and came across this story on Facebook. I find it so disgusting that this is allowed to happen in the 21st century. Praise to the kids who made this petition. Your teacher deserves her job back along with a massive apology. Hopefully your voices will be heard xx

That student should be expelled, since when is stealling property with a sense of black mail okay in the school system. Authority should reinstate the teacher with an apology.

The 16 year old should be held accountable not the teacher.

It is a sad day when the perpetrator, here it is the student, receives no discipline of the wrongful invasion of privacy, and the twisted minded authority that is suppose to teach these children right from wrong, are such wimps that they further victimize the victim and in so doing call evil good and good evil. This is ridiculous! Here is an example of why my kids attended the private school of our choice and was well worth the financial sacrifice!

The kid should be arrested. To me, this is the same as breaking and entering.

The student should be prosecuted for theft

It's absurd that the students have not been punished. This is the classroom environment we work in, where students are not held responsible for their actions or academics.
