In this situation the students are clearly at fault. It is time we hold those who refuse to recognize this truth accountable. In my day, schools protected their teachers, not thugs who should be in jail. I hope she sues the district and retires..

This is ridiculous! That kid had no right to do that. He should be punished. That is against the law.

Her privacy was violated by a student who attained personal information wrongfully. I don't doubt for a second that every teacher and administrator deleted everything along the same lines. It is wrong to blame a woman for her personal affairs and not her harasser. What message does that send? It goes to show that women still do not have power over their own bodies. It is a shame to say she should have protected her self better or made it harder for a student to steal private information. We need to change the language that blames women when they are harassed or attached, and make the ones responsible for doing it in the place punished.

She was silly leaving her phone unattended but that's not serious enough to fire her and the student but her is responsible for what happened after that!

Mrs. Arthur is the victim in this case. How is that not obvious to everybody?

this is victim blaming at its finest. its unbelievable that theyre attempting to make the fault hers by saying she made her phone accessable to her students. people should know better than to log into someones phone without their permission and steal private photos. if anything, the kid should be suspended or expelled for harassing a teacher.

Since when was it okay to STEAL someone's private property and essentially DISTRIBUTE pornographic images to minors and NOT be punished?! This is such a disgusting act of betrayal. Not only should her job be restored, the student responsible should be expelled.

This is a symptom of patriarchy that a woman's privacy is clearly violated and she is the one punished

It is the student who should be arrested and tried for theft charges.

Shame on the school for victim blaming and not standing up for her rights.

This was a complete invasion of this teacher's privacy. The child should have never touched her phone.

Leigh Anne Arthur must get her job back with an apology and then the student that STOLE her phone needs to be reprimanded harshly!! The school admin needs to be reprimanded as well for those actions against this teacher!!

Arrest the THIEF, not the victim.

This kid clearly was in the wrong to go through her personal belongings. If h/she had stolen money from her wallet would she be in the wrong for allowing him to do it? Of course not. Punishment needs to be dished out to set an example and because it is the right thing to do.
