It is ridiculous that Mrs Arthur would be held responsible for this crime against her.

Ridiculous. She shouldn't have to keep her phone locked to keep students from stealing it and using it to post what's essentially revenge porn. The fact that she was fired for private and completely legal activities (that were illegally exposed) and that the student hasn't faced consequences is unthinkable.

What was done to this teacher is a travesty. Not only was her privacy violated, but then she gets punished for it?! This is simply not fair.

The school bored is hella wrong for this, it's not the fualt the teacher was taking pics, nor that her phone was unlocked, the stutdent didn't have permission to use her phone.

Victim blaming at its finest. She shouldn't be punished. The kid who did it should be at least suspended or have to face legal punishment.

This is absolutely disgraceful on the school administration's part. This sort of treatment of teachers is why I, and many others, are glad we;re no longer teachers.

If I were her I'd sue the school system and the kid or his parents depending on whether you can sue a 16yr old as an adult in SC. She was wrongfully terminated, her reputation targeted and put through severe emotional distress because of the illegal actions of someone who could legally be charged as an adult in most states.

The principal should be terminated for over looking the real issue here regarding privacy, invasion of that privacy, and theft and harassment by the student.

What the student who leaked her photos did was totally messed up. She shouldn't have to be punished for keeping nudes in her phone.

Don't blame the victim.

If we continue to take all responsibility and consequences away from children, we will raise narcissist ignorant jerks. This teacher should not be fired for personal photos on her personal phone. The student should be expelled instead.

I'm appalled that the person who broke the law hasn't faced punishment while the one who didn't got fired.

Her privacy was violated!! Expell the student! Disrupting school and technically theft of digital property!

Seriously? This is a no brainer

Total invasion of her privacy. Even if her phone was left unattended, it was still her personal property.

Punishing the victim of a crime? Nice move, school district...nice move.

What happened to due process? Does this school generally blame the victim?

The student responsible needs to be punished, as well as the school administration for handling this so poorly.
