Student should be expelled. Teacher should be given damages and punitive damages settlement of a few million for the school's terrible handling of this situation.

Yet another act of misogyny from our schools.

The student who went through her phone needs to be held accountable for his actions, and the teacher reinstated. It is common sense that everything on a phone is private property, just as what is in someone's wallet, purse and home is private property.

I don't know anything about this teacher but going through her phone is like going through her purse. The student who did what he did needs to be held accountable. She is not to blame.

We all make mistakes as teens, but this young man's "lapse in good judgment" borders on the sociopathic. I hope his parents seek counseling for him. The school's handling of this situation is appalling on so many levels. By acknowledging their mistakes and rectifying the situation, the administrators (and parents?) involved still have a chance to set a good example for the students who are watching this unacceptable drama play out. Finally, kudos to the students who spoke out seeking justice for their doubly assaulted teacher. In you I see that our future is in good hands.

This is a sad situation. The wrong person is being punished here. The student should be the one punished, not the teacher. Her privacy was invaded and nothing is being done to address that fact. It was wrong to force her to resign, period.

I think that the school has done her wrong. It's her phone and he invaded her privacy. He should be punished.

Mrs Arthur must be reinstated immediately. To blame a true victim for a blatant attempt to get back at her is wrong, and if i were a teacher with this district, i would have serious thoughts about continuing my employment there until Mrs Arthur recieves a full public apology from the district.

The content of the teacher's phone is private and confidential. The student had no more business going through her phone than he would have going through her purse or her desk drawers. She did NOTHING wrong!

Clear violation of her right to privacy. Embarrassing that a school superintendent vested with the responsibility of educating would ignore such an obvious fact

Why is this even an issue? The victim gets punished. The perpetrator goes away without an issue? We are so broken.

She did nothing wrong. The embarrassment and shame this boy has brought upon her is shameful.

This woman done nothing wrong I would support her in anyway I could. The pictures were for her husband which their is nothing wrong with. In this day and age it's hard enough to make it she needs her job and her personal life is her business. That young adult should be punished for going through her personal stuff, and publish it online as this violates her privacy in so many different ways. Let's fight for her this world is going to hell ina hand basket, wrong is now right and right is wrong. Our forefathers would turn over in their grave if they knew the direction this country is turning to. The wicked have more rights than law abiding citizens and this makes me disgusted. God bless you young lady I'm lifting you up in prayer and believing this situation will be turned over for your benefit.

If this would happen in The Netherlands, no big problems would arise for the teacher. Unfortunately in the USA the puritan attitude on the part of sexuality in general is years behind of what it should be.

Mrs Arthur was my elementary school teacher! She was the best teacher I have ever had. She out of all the rest of the staff is the only one I've had that has actually took the time & effort to teach every individual student and to help them understand the criteria. She shouldn't have been forced to resign, it should have been dealt with in a fashionable manner, & the student(s) themselves should have got suspended and sent home. There is no reason or explanation for them young boys to have done such a thing. Privacy is privacy her phone and them snooping through it shouldn't have caused her to have to resign.

I am in support of this teacher 100%. That student had no right to violate her privacy and personal property. The student should most definitely be punished.
