That student betrayed an expected level of privacy. If someone can be fined or charged for opening someone else mail why aren't they punished for opening and stealing from someone's phone.

I didn't realize we live in a society where this students theft of a teacher's phone was acceptable. If the student hadn't commutted the crime in the first place would administrators have even known about the photos? This is equatable to "the fappening" last year in which the FBI found the image "leakers" in violation of the celebrities rights to privacy. This student should face the same criminal penalties.

I realize that even if she gets her job back, she might not want it, but I want to show support for her. Some twit invaded her privacy, she has a right to believe her students would respect her belongings and would have the decency not to share her personal photos.

Sad to read about this incident. No one has the right to invade someone else's privacy like this. Having an open email or an unlocked phone is not an invitation for people to prey on your personal live. Hope this get resolved in the best posible way.

The student should be charged, if she left her purse and he stole money how is that different from invading her privacy.

Ms. Arthur. The student in question who stole her private photos deserves punishment.

The teacher is the victim here. She has a right to privacy

This is so wrong! Mrs. Arthur should not be in the wrong! The student needs to be punished!

The student should be punished, not the teacher.

The kid broke the law. The teacher was the victim. Shame on you, administration.

Just because her phone was laying in the open does not give anyone the right to go through it and especially share its contents. It's time the person/people responsible get held accountable, and the victim be the victim not the one charged. This goes for all crimes not just this one. Too many victims are left being blamed for the actions of others and the perpetrators are left being free sitting back laughing

There seems to be no common sense in this country anymore and the government schools seem to be the reason.

The level of disrespect towards this teacher by the school district is mind boggling. Let's be honest, because I'm sure most people have left their cell phone in a precarious place. Thankfully for you a little dirt bag didn't get hold of it and send out your personal content.
