Her privacy was invaded. She should have her job back. Sounds like she was a good teacher with passion and commitment to what she taught.

Blame the real problem, the student. He had no rights to touch the phone

Not even police have the right to search our phones with a warrant. What this student did was theft and an invasion of privacy.

A punk kid shouldn't determine the fate of an educator. It's a clear violation of privacy.
SO MANY people take nudes for their SO's.
If you steal it from a teacher you don't like or is failing you, GROW up. No one likes punk kids or adults.
Time to put your big boy pants on & say sorry for being a sour kid.

I find it appalling that the teacher was punished instead of the student. That kid needs to be taught a lesson for violating privacy and distributing personal photos.

Does the curriculum at Union County High include a basic "Civics" class? If so, then the school and Administration should be aware of the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments to the Constitution of the United States of America.
Namely that "No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, . . . nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law."
In other words, when the school Administrator asked Mrs. Arthur to resign, he acted as the Prosecuting Attorney, the Judge and the Jury. Mrs. Arthur was denied her basic rights guaranteed under the US Constitution.

What the hell. They the laws are for the criminals. How true. This teacher does not deserve to be terminated. What is on her personal cell phone is her business. This student some her phone and violated her privacy and rights. And nothing happens to him. Just not right. Too much political crap

cyberbullying---this is what this school district upholds? Mr. Eubanks needs to slip back into retirement before he makes another ridiculous decision and embarrasses this school district and South Carolina even further. This kid's actions are like rummaging through a teacher's purse in order to procure something embarrassing, like a tampon---one's phone is one's personal property. Contributing to delinquency? Any kid who would think of doing something like this against a person of authority was already there.

It's not fair for a person to lose their job due to private pictures that she had no intention of sharing with her students. The student who took the teachers phine, without permission, should be punished. The teacher should also lock her phone in the future.

One would expect professional school administrators to exhibit the capacity to apply logic and justice. Alas, one would be wrong ...

That student committed theft, and sexual harassment by invading his teacher's privacy and sharing her private photos. Punish him, give the teacher her job back, she did nothing wrong. She was not at fault for leaving her phone - a private possession - on her own desk.

As a parent, I feel it is extremely unfortunate that certain school administrators across the U.S. continue to display a total lack of common sense, fairness & competence. I hope you correct your mistake soon.
