The student should be penalized, not the teacher. If she had her purse on the desk and he rifled thru it and distributed all of her belongings to others that would be theft. same thing here

That lucky little bastard should be expelled, and Leigh Anne Arthur should be reinstated.

This is big news in Los Angeles now. People ARE listening. People DO care. Good luck fighting the uphill battle and realize that we're carefully observing this situation from all over the world.

That student was in the wrong, there's absolutely no way she should be punished for this. Check through a few administrators phones or homes and I can guarantee you'll find worse.

This teacher should not be punished because someone else couldn't respect her right to privacy! This is just another example of victim blaming that we see so often. It needs to stop.

Leigh Anne Arthur is at worst responsible for making a mistake. The student is responsible for willfully invading her privacy. Not only is this punishment shaming people for innocuous acts in their private life, it is making clear the lack of equality when it comes to the issues of sex and gender in this country.

The parties responsible for stealing intellectual data (even if racy pics), need to be held accountable.

I'm not from this school and not even from the States, but I feel with the students who just want to have their teacher back. It's not fair that Mrs Arthur get punished and so I strongly agree to get her back, so she can teach and make her students happy. Also I think it's her dream job and how unfair it is to take it from her when it's not her fault what happened. Much love from Germany.

David Eubanks should be the one to resign and the 16 yr old should not only be expelled, but that this should be put on his permanent record for colleges and potential employers to know what kind of 'human being' they are hiring, human being is in quotes because no human being with an actual conscience would sexually victimized someone like that.

Ms Arthur is the victim of an invasion of her privacy. The images are not evidence of unlawful or unethical behavior. There were no underage students, or small rodents, appearing in the photos which were stolen. She, as every adult, has the right to participate in creative romantic expression. Furthermore, I believe every adult, less than 50 years of age, should be encouraged to maintain a portfolio of nude selfies on their phone, just in case of emergency, and also to show support for individuals' constitutional rights. Ms Arthur is a spectacular example of the principles that make this nation great, firstly being the assertion of ones technological ability to auto-photographically preserve artistic images of our nations bountiful bosoms. We shall all rise to stand proud of Ms Arthur.

So what the school did was say that it's alright to violate the privacy of others and steal from others without any repercussions whatsoever. Stupidity in the so called "education" system is killing this country.

Student is in the wrong - your phone is a personal sanctuary and should be treated similar to the privacy and property respect of a vehicle (an extension of your house)

Arthur was penalized solely because of the independent actions of Student. Doing so only lessens Student's responsibility. Arthur's personal space was invaded, her materials were rifled through, taken, and shared without her knowledge or consent. Had such an occurrence taken place elsewhere she'd only be seen as the victim and rightfully not punished. The school's actions are ridiculous, at best. Arthur should be reinstated.

She was victimized by a student and because of it was forced into an unfortunate situation. She should not have to lose her livelihood or ability to touch the lives of students because of this.

Schools are a joke anymore. Kids get expelled for pretending their fingers are guns but not invading a teachers privacy? You shouldn't have to lck your phone to expect privacy. The phone did not belong to the student therefore the student should be punished.

Are these administrators really this backwards thinking and ignorant? The student is the one that should be punished severely.
