It's completely inappropriate to breach someone's privacy, like this student did. This is intentional malicious behavior. We are punishing the victim.

Why wasn't the student punished?

That was her property. He stole her private property. Students shouldn't be allowed to have phones in school

The teacher should not be held responsible or punished for an invasion of her own privacy.

Her right to privacy has been violated, the mere fact that the student blatantly STOLE her picture from her PRIVATE CELL makes the evidence inadmissible and any smart individual knows that. Mrs Arthur should be reinstated and issued a public apology for treating her like a criminal, the kid should be suspended for stealing private property. A cell phone should be treated like a file cabinet, if anyone sticks their hand in a file cabinet at school and steals a paper or a photo, would the person in-charge of the cabinet be fired?...., then why not a personal Cell? Our society is consenting criminal acts from the young who are going to grow up believing they can get away with anything...The student is a young adult, hold him responsible for his actions...quit blaming the victim.

Disgusting that in this day & age, women are STILL lacking certain basic rights (privacy, in this case).

The student was clearly to blame. I will be donating to the legal defense of this teacher, as will many others. I hope they personally go after the superintendent that has been shooting his mouth off about this. You are destroying your school district. What teacher would ever be foolish enough to accept the liability that comes with working at this school district?

What a bunch of idiots for firing that teacher. What, is it illegal to have a personal life outside of school? I hope whoever fired her gets fired themselves.

Discipline the student for his criminal acts! Not the professor! How backwards can your thinking get! I hope your tuition enrollments go down until this is corrected!

Invading one's privacy is illegal, and had this happened to a female STUDENT, the outcome would have been very different!! And that's a shame :(

This kid is a digital Peeping Tom. The idea that she would be penalized for that is incredibly sexist.

The student was in the wrong. This is theft.

Little brat deserves a beating A LOT more than the teacher deserves to lose her job over her own personal life. Precedence NEEDS to start being set to protect women for sexual content of any severity.

This women getting fired is a disruption of her fundamental right to privacy. The fact that your school has decided to fire her and instead provide zero repercussions for the student involved, makes your school look like a joke. Do the right thing before you have a lawsuit on your hands and are forced to pay this teacher, who is obviously loved by her students, a lot of money. Also that student should be suspended for theft, what he did WAS A CRIME.

The student should be punished for theft not the teacher! Good luck!
