BRING HER BACK

It is ridiculous and abhorrent that the teacher Arthur was punished for the crime of a student. How this is not clear to the administration of the school is beyond my ability to comprehend.

Give this teacher her job back with an apology and punish the student to the fullest extent possible.

Teacher should be reinstated immediately.

Teachers are people too. Punish the child not the teacher for being a human being. This is such an insane level of punitive over reach I can't believe it even happened.

The circumstances in which Mrs. Arthur was let go is unacceptable, and must be corrected.

The school should be ashamed and the kid should be punished

The kid should be heavily disciplined and prosecuted. The teacher had her privacy violated and I'm no way deserved to be fired. Bring her back.

Since when do we blame teachers for a students bad behavior, threats, violations of privacy, theft, and malice?!

A good teacher is too valuable to discard just because students violated his or her privacy rights. Schools are all too willing to claim credit for all that goes right in classrooms and blame teachers for everything that goes wrong in a classroom.

She did nothing wrong and the boy responsible for stealing her property (the photo) should be punished. Grow up administrators and use some common sense.

The student needs to be disciplined and prosecuted, if unlawful. Stupid school administrators.

I read about this story on the NY Times, and felt indignant on behalf of Ms. Arthur. This incident had nothing to do with her competence as a teacher and the fact that she would be forced to lose her job over this is appalling.

Give this teacher the job back

This is tantamount to punishing a homeowner for having their TV stolen because their door was unlocked. The student stole and invaded their teacher's privacy. Period. I would expect such backwards idiocy as this from South Carolina and sadly cannot say I'm surprised.

Not only is this a blatant attack on privacy, this is a blatant attack on women's and victim's rights and intimacy with her husband. Once again a male can sexually harass a woman and face no consequences. The woman did nothing wrong by taking the photos or having a body to share with her husband, and is absolutely no ground for firing/forced resigning. This student is malicious and deserves to be expelled. Hopefully the teacher sues the family for intentional emotional damage in civil court.
