Teachers should not be punished foe being the victims of theft.

Mrs. Arthur should have her job back. It's her private device that had her private pictures on there. The kid stole the phone so he should have full responsibility for his actions.

If the student went into her phone and stole her photos I think the issue is pretty clear.

Absolutely silly thing to fire a teacher over; especially when she shows such character about the situation.

Only in the US, where the child is not held reliable for his actions but instead coddled after committing such an invasion on an educator. As an educational institution, shouldn't you be teaching your students responsibility and liability instead of teaching them that they can do whatever they want and get off with it just because they're minors? Way to be responsible models of authority.

Please consider reinstating this teacher. I do not believe this is an offense worthy of termination. The student was in the wrong and should be suspended. The phone is the teachers property and should be left alone, as should her purse or any other personal items. This is a basic human social norm.

That kid is at fault here, not her. Signed.

A high schooler should know right from wrong. Period. Granted, it may be a good idea for her to add the passcode to her phone, (I definitely do with my students), but phones are private property. Would it be any different if he looked at a journal that she wrote in, or rifled through her desk for an exam paper? She should not lose her job over this.

Absolutely disgraceful actions by the student in question and the school officials.

The complete reversal of values: protect the perpetrator and banish the hussy, right? Sickening. The school administrators should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. And the parent of this boy should be beyond disgusted that they raised a son with this weak of a moral compass.

Absolutely ridiculous that she is getting punished when the child violated her private phone.
