The actions of your school are absolutely ludicrous; and as grown adults you should be ashamed of making such a backwards, archaic decision of punishing a VICTIM when they were the one wronged.

Nobody had the right to assert themselves into this woman's private life. Give her job back
Common sense doesn't seem to be so common. Such a shame that acedemia has fallen to these levels.

This student should be suspended for his actions and take a corrective course in cyber bullying. This was a blatant attack on her privacy, those photos were meant for her husband not the world to see

This is effectively the same as if the student pants'd the teacher and the school claimed she was at fault. He assaulted her privacy and stole from her, he even fits into hacking laws. Don't victim blame here.

Having a sexy picture on your phone is not a crime. Having someone snoop through your personal data and share it broadly is an invasion of privacy (phone locked or not). This teacher should not have been let go, and the student should be educated about personal privacy.

I think the student needs to be put in jail.

This is completely ridiculous. As a student in high school, this was not the teacher's fault, and she should be reinstated.

saw the story online and cannot believe she got in trouble for someone basically stealing her personal data. That makes no sense at all. I know the petition is not for this, but the student who went through her phone and then shared her personal data with the rest of the class should be the one that is in trouble. Hopefully, Mrs. Arthur will get her job back or find work at a different school

I cannot believe Mrs. Arthur is being blamed for leaving her phone on her desk. The student stole the phone and obtained illegal material. Would the student go unpunished if she had left a copy of a future test on her desk and he made copies and distributed them? Absolutely. This is the same principle. He took something that did not belong to him.

As a teacher, this is a nightmare scenario. The fact that a school would not support a teacher through this is obscene. Shame for all those higher ups involved, and I hope that this teacher gets restored to her position. God bless.
