The teacher did nothing wrong, at all. How is the kid not the one at fault for rummaging through the phone in the first place? That's invasion of something personal.

The backwards way this situation was handled is deplorable. The student should be punished and Mrs. Arthur should be given the option to return to her previous position.

What that student did to her is terrible. I cannot believe the teacher was let go while the student remains unpunished. I hope he regrets what he did for the rest of his life. But how could he if the school has no problem with it?

Blame the teacher and not the student, amazing backwords thinking by a school that is supposed to be teaching its students how to be responsible members of society.

Punish the student, not the teacher.

I can't believe this is even happening in an American school in the 21st century. The student involved should be expelled from the school for the severe invasion of privacy.

The kid is a dickhead.

The fact that she was fired to begin with shows all you need to know about the values schools are teaching our children. Ridiculous!

If she left her purse on her desk and he went through it and found some Polaroids in a sealed envelope would she be to blame for that too? Use some common sense.

This is scandalous! And I'm not talking about some PRIVATE fotos. Those in power should use some common sense. Or get replaced.

Its disgusting that this woman was fired for something she did during her own time outside of school. A student stole her phone and stole those pictures. He should be punished to the full extent. Not the teacher.

This woman is a victim. Punish the kid(s) who STOLE her phone. This is a travesty.

She's a victim not a criminal. A better example for students must be how to respect each other and how to respect private lives. Private message on phones exists everywhere, but not everyone is taking those messages without permission.

Hopefully things will be resolved! Although "young" (though not that much), the student must realize the consequences of his stupid actions.

This is outrageous. Do we no longer have rights in the privacy of our own lives?

The kid should be repermanded. Not the teacher. She has a right to her personal life.
