Better make this right before your school gains even more negative national attention than it already has.

Good teachers are hard enough to find.

Firing the teacher is ridicolous. The freaking kid should be held responsible and how this isn't immediately clear to some people goes against any logic.

How is the teacher in the wrong? If I leave my door open while I take out the trash, does that make it OK for someone to steal my TV because it was "made available?" The student is 100% at fault. The moment he touched her phone, he was in the wrong, and should be grounded, suspended, and forced to write apology letters to everyone he's wronged and had their time wasted with his actions.

This is ridiculous, those photos were in no way "available to the students" The second that kid went through her phone and distributed them he should have been expelled. An absolute joke that she is being held responsible for one child's absolutely horrific behavior.

The student was in the wrong the second he picked up that phone

That kid didn't just pick her phone up and open it and boom, nude pic. No. He picked up her phone, figured out how to open it, specifically looked for her photo album, and then searched it for anything provocative. Adults have lives outside of work, and when it comes to sex, nobody is perfect or innocent. She has a right to privacy, and no one but her should have picked that phone up and gone through it; that is an invasion of privacy. The child deserves expulsion, and the teacher deserves to have her job reinstated. This is wrong, and you, the schoolboard, are more than wrong.

The student is absolutely in the wrong. This is unacceptable.

How absurd that this kid does this and she gets in trouble. I would sue the school and press charges on the kid.

The discharging of this teacher is the most senseless thing I have heard of in a very long while. Perhaps the student should be punished for stealing, and for sharing the picture he also stole. His parents need a good talking-to, as well. Give her back her job.

That may qualify for a hacking charge. It's unauthorized use of an electronic system. http://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t16c016.php

The student should be expelled for stealing information, invasion of privacy and to learn there is consequences to his actions. The teacher did what we all have done with loved ones, how is she an exception when I guarantee people who are shaming her have done the same.

We all heard the story, but if that is how the photos were obtained, that is her personal property on her private device.

The student should be arrested for theft/sexual harassment. Ms. Arthur is not responsible for his crime.
