The teacher has a right to privacy and ownership of her personal phone. What is on her phone is no one else's business or property. What this student did was a violation and total disrespect to a woman and an authority figure. She deserves to be reinstated.

"Let's punish the teacher whose privacy was criminally violated!" Disgraceful. Someone should be losing their job over this, but it's whoever decided to let the teacher go.

This is an atrocity. What precedent is being set? Adult behavior is unacceptable, but betraying privacy is?

I am so glad to not be an employee of that school district or worse, a parent of a child in the system. I am embarrassed that a student who steals personal information is not held accountable, yet the teacher was?? I think the Interim Superintendent, David Eubanks should be shown the door by the school board.

This is ridiculous. Saying the teacher should have locked her phone and as a result is guilty of anything is equivalent to saying that a guy that robbed a gas station with a gun he stole from my house is my responsibility because I didn't lock my door. We all have a right to the assumption that our privacy and possessions are not going to be abused by others and anyone who commits said abuse should obviously be the guilty party not vice-versa. Reinstate this teacher and bring back common sense.

While you're at it fire the superintendent, seems like a real p.o.s.

Ms. Arthur is a robbery victim then was virtually sexually assaulted when the student searched through her private info & violated her privacy by sharing private images regardless of whether it was a sexual or not. This student is 100% responsible for his actions.

Outrageous. The teacher is NOT at fault. All you're doing is paving the way for future online harassment by not holding the perpetrator to account. Disgraceful.
