This is not the teachers fault. If someone breaks into a doctors car and steals your medical documents and distributes them, does the doctor get fired, no it's the crime that gets punished not the innocent.

The student should be held accountable, not the teacher.

I demand that she be compensated, helped to get a job in a new school at the same pay, have the student formally charged with theft and invasion of privacy, and make the superintendent formally apologize for his massive lapse of sound judgment and reasoning.

School admins need to grow a pair and enact some discipline, this is completely unacceptable. I see a very expensive lawsuit heading towards the school district.

I hope the kid will be properly punished for his actions. Stealing private property is not okay especially in this situation. The teacher has done nothing wrong except be a teacher at the wrong school. I pray justice will be brought upon this school and the kid. In her case though, I hope her job position will be reinstated for her only for her to quit and leave to a different school. The justice system incorporated at the school is not for protecting teachers and their rights, but rather the pride of higher authority at the school. Sickening.

This is disgusting and illegal! Reinstate the teacher and punish the pupil accordingly.

This is absolutely ridiculous. The student stole this teacher's private property and then distributed it. Just because she is the teacher and the student the thief does noy preclude her from reasonable expectation of privacy. She needs to sue the school system and the little jerk who went into her phone needs expelled.

The victim here is the teacher. The student should be suspended or kicked out for a grievous broach of privacy on a device that was not their own.

Superintendent David Eubanks said that Mrs. Arthur was in the wrong because "her phone was unlocked and she made the inappropriate picture available to her students." So this is the argument used to justify stealing? Clearly by the student waiting for her to leave to take her phone, he knew he was in the wrong. God forbid she takes a sexy picture to send to her husband. Oh no, not that! She got her personal data stolen, and then got fired for being a victim of a crime. Give Mrs. Arthur her job back, then punish that kid for his actions.

It is essential that the student responsible for this are punished and legal action should be taken against them. You are teaching them that they are absolved of responsibility and that there are no consequences for their disgusting behaviour and that teachers are powerless.

Mrs. Arthur deserves justice! This kind of unfairness makes me sick and angry! The student should be punished, not Mrs. Arthur!
