The student should be punished!! He did it with intent to threaten the teacher and he should be held responsible.

Young people have no future if they are allowed to disrespect people in this way

I stand with you, students, and with Mrs. Arthur in defense of Mrs Arthur's privacy. I hope the reinstatement comes swiftly!

This is completely unacceptable how a student who goes through personal things on her phone goes unpunished but the teacher is the one who gets punished

Even all the way from Norway this seems outrageous!

This is utter crap. So tired of reading about the pure incompetence of our school leaders.

The kid broke the law. He should go to court. The teacher is innocent, and she has the right and advantage to sue. The school board should be ashamed.

I'm not sure who's more despicable, the school superintendent or the thief student.

Everyone makes mistakes, however the school should not have fired her. Schools need to reexamine how they hand out punishments to teachers and students alike. The child is not always right, and the teacher is not always wrong.

Shamful behaviour to sack someone who had their phone stolen and their privacy invaded like this!

It is not fair to hold this teacher accountable for a teenagers impulsive (and illegal!) act.

Such a messed up situation. I hope things take a turn in Mrs. Arthur's favor.
