The student knew what he did was wrong, yet she is punished. What kind of a lesson is this for the children?

If it's another student's binder, which contains personal information, was left on the student desk, would it be acceptable?

I'd be interested to know how the school board would have handled this if it were a male teacher who's privacy had been invaded. I'm quite sure he would have been given a public slap on the wrist, and a private "atta boy" for this sort of humiliation. I'm disgusted that it's 2016 and women are still being punished for the actions of others.

She should not be fired for a students illegal action towards her privacy.

First time to sign one of these, but it is completely obvious to be a worthy cause. What scum.

What a sad day when someone's private life, which they kept private, gets unwillingly exposed and costs them their job. A human being having a sex life outside of the class? Wh-wh-wh-WHAT?! MY GOD. Think of the children.
When the internet can see that exposing the private nude photos of celebrities, never meant for the public eye, is not the fault of the stars themselves yet a school board blames a teacher for photos that were unwillingly taken from her phone by a student and sent around with the intent of damaging her reputation, you know there is something very very wrong.

This lady should absolutely be reinstated to her position as teacher. She was a victim, not a perpetrator, and deserves the support of her administration.

It just amazes me that someone; let alone a superintendent, would hear a situation like this and come to the conclusion that the innocent, married, already embarrassed school teacher who was the victim of the illegal invasion of privacy was to blame.

As a teacher, this disgusts and saddens me. If we do not have the support of our administration, we are doomed to fail. Leigh Anne Arthur had her privacy violated and it's horrifying that not only is she being blamed for this, but that the student walks unpunished.
