This teacher is a victim of a crime--her personal privacy was violated. The student who did this should receive punishment appropriate for his age so that he understands this is unacceptable behavior. And this teacher should be back on the job. Her other students shouldn't have to lose their teacher because one student did something wrong.

How can this have possibly been handled in this manner by the administrators? Any disciplinary action on the teacher at all is inappropriate. It would be like if someone stole your car and ran someone over with it...by that logic the car owner is at fault? What a poor example of morals and ethics for these poor children.

Good teachers, who have human lives outside of their jobs, should not be held liable for the inappropriate actions of their students. Your decision is unfortunately indicative of the larger problem of stripping the rights of teachers. Shame on your school.

Mrs. Arthur did nothing wrong. Prosecute the kid and fire David Eubanks.

She is the victim here--the student should be punished (both by the school district and the law), and the teacher should absolutely be reinstated.

The student was in the wrong the moment he picked up that phone. Not the teacher.

Discipline the morally deficient student!! Unbelievable hypocrisy. Shouldn't be surprising coming from the South. Embarassing.

This type of disciplinary action is a key root of issues within the public school system and a wrong needs to be righted here.

My phone. No one else's. If someone does that. Even my girlfriend I'd be quite upset. It's no one else's business.
