I'm from Germany and I hope my sign still counts. It's a shame something like this can happen.

This is absurd, the teacher should not have been fired and the student needs to be expelled at the very least.

Mrs. Arthur was not in the wrong. The student should not have picked up her private property and then proceed to look through her phone. This is an invasion of privacy and not respectful of Mrs. Arthur or her belongings.

Bring back Mrs. Arthur. This is outrageous. Mrs. Arthur's privacy was illegally invaded, and now she is being persecuted by the school administration---Please do the right thing and bring her back.

David Eubanks should be ashamed of himself. That photo was on her private phone, which was stolen by a student, and the student isn't being punished. How does that make sense?

This is an absurd situation which highlights several problems in our country. A male student can violate the privacy of an adult woman with no suspension or expulsion, but the female victim of his actions is the one who is forced to bear punishment because she was the one being inappropriate? This is completely unjust and yet another example of victim blaming. This situation is no different to celebrities having their personal images stolen electronically and shared publicly. Those perpetrators faced legal punishment, and so should this student. If the student in question had done the same to another fellow student, he would be charged with illegal distribution of child pornography. This situation needs to be approached in the same manner with the charge being illegal distribution of pornography and violation of privacy because Arthur did NOT give her consent for the student to touch her phone, look through its contents, or share them. The contents of Arthur's cell phone were hers and hers alone, she was not making them available to students, her property and privacy were violated. There are already too few women in the sciences, and this school needs her to return for the benefit of the students.

Professionals in all fields are human beings, and have both a right to their personal lives and an expectation that these lives remain private in their workplace. When these rights are violated at no fault of the individual, it is certainly wrong to enact punishment on them. Eubanks and the school district should be horribly ashamed of themselves for their behavior. Teachers are people, and good teachers are worth their weight in gold. Reinstate Ms. Arthur as she is willing, and apologize. Shame on you!
This is an outrage! She deserves her job back!
Seriously? "Boys will be boys", right? *eye roll*
She is not in the wrong here!
That kid is an asshat

This is bs. She did nothing wrong.
This is not the teachers fault!
