Absolute disgrace! If anyone should be fired it's David Eubanks for his sexist, misogynistic, victim blaming policies!

The poor example is being set by school administration. The student should face strong disciplinary action and be held accountable, along with any other person who received and forwarded the private photos. The bottom line here is that stealing is an offense upon which the severity of the crime is determined by the value of the item(s) stolen. Punish accordingly.

I believe this is very unfair. In a world driven by common sense, the teacher should be suing for privacy infringement and the students tried under juvenile laws. In a world where common sense would work, that is.

This is a blatant wrongdoing on behalf of the student. The teacher should be rehired, and the student should be disciplined.

Had the student not STOLEN her phone, the pic would have remained unknown.
Shameful response on the part of the school.

I am a teacher. I bring my phone to class to keep track of time. And sometimes I leave it on the desk in order to help my students. This is my job. The principal's job is to make sure that students who violate elementary rules of privacy, not to mention the law, are properly disciplined. It is the school principal, not Mrs. Arthur, who should be fired.

What was on the phone doesn't matter; the fact that the student invaded privacy by taking her phone without permission and the proceeded to take pictures of the phone's contents and distribute it without permission, does matter.

That the school would blame this teacher for what a student who clearly was in the wrong did is beyond me. The student should be punished (surely the school has rules against stealing, doesn't it?) and the teacher reinstated. What a horrible precedent that students can commit a crime against a teacher and get away with it while their victim is punished. Shame on you all!
