This is a disgrace to the legal system as well as the educational system.

What happened to this teacher was completely unfair. The student is in the wrong.

Mrs Arthur's right to privacy has been violated. This is like going through her purse. It's private. The student(s) should be punished not Mrs. Arthur.

Support your staff. She has been treated very badly. I am disgusted with the actions of this school

That the teacher would be punished for this student's appalling behavior, that administrators would ignore his error and justify his behavior, is ignorant beyond belief. You are educators, not just with lectures but with all of your actions. What lesson did you teach this student?

A 16 year old knows better than to steal information from someone's phone. If this happened in a workplace the person who stole the information would face consequences, not the victim. Even 5 year olds know not to take someone's things without permission. The student needs to be reprimanded and the teacher reinstated. I think the lesson has been learned on both sides. No need to ruin lives and futures over such a trivial incident.

Because I don't want to be screwed the next time someone sees my pass code and steels my phone.

This is rediculous. Let her have her job back (not that I would want to work for an employer if they did that to me)

So people actually believe this is fair. Her phone was stolen and the kid in question gloated about it. I wonder if the people who say she is at fault, would handle themselves in the same situation? If something of theirs was stolen, or their privacy was intruded. When did adults stop using common sense?

The teacher is not a fault here

This woman did nothing wrong and was in fact victimized by her student. Punishing the victim in this situation is absurd.

Teachers aren't paid enough to demand they don't have a sex life. If you want to demand teachers not do whatever everyone else does, such as sexy pictures aND drinking alcohol, then you need to pay them a hell of a lot more. I wonder what secrets the school administrators shave because I'm sure they do.
