Seriously? Why wasn't the STUDENT held to any responsibility? This wasn't a first grader, this was a HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT who's clearly a jerk. PUNISH THE KID.

The school district's action here is absolutely abhorrent. Way to teach students how to blame the victim, especially in sexual misconduct cases. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Breaching a personal item whether it be a pocket book or phone is invasion of privacy. She did not openly show the children, this was taken from her in a number of inappropriate steps.

If he had stolen her credit card numbers, I bet she wouldn't have gotten fired. But no, since she acted like an autonomous human being, she's fired. Her pictures should not be called "inappropriate."

Do not know this teacher but even though she left her phone on the desk the student was the one in the wrong for going thru her personal information he made a bad choice and should be punished for his actions if he isn't that is saying to him what he did is ok. We all have pictures on our phone that we do not want to share licked or unlocked. It would still be wrong for some to go thru our phone without permission. What if you principal left you phone out unlocked and someone went thru your pictures would you resign because of some else's action probably not. If something is not done to punish this student and offer teachers job back and clear her then you are in the wrong

This is like a thief who drives off with a stolen car successfully suing the owner of the car when he gets in a car accident and hurts himself in the stolen car.
Let's use common sense when investigating this!

This kid deserves to be punished and he should. He took a teacher's phone without her permission, went through her pictures, and then sent them to other students and SHE was the one who got punished. That is absolutely ridiculous and unfair on so many levels. Kid should be expelled in my opinion. WOW.
And please please don't email me. I get enough emails daily, I don't need anymore. I just want to sign because I believe it's the right thing to do.

Simple facts:
1. Student invades privacy and steals image from a mobile phone thats not his.
2. Student uses stolen image to embarrass and slander owner of image.
3. Student recieves no punishment.
4. Owner of image is punished.
Are schools established to teach children right or wrong?

Absolutely disgusting that the teacher is being blamed for this... She should have her job back and the child should be charged with theft, and whatever else they an throw at them.. Shame on the school for screwing this up massively!
