The people who fired the teacher should be fired. your job is to protect your staff, not fire them because they have been a victim of a crime, the student should be expelled as well.

Who in their right mind punishes the teacher for the student illegally going through the teacher's personal things? Seriously?

The student was in the wrong. The teacher shouldn't have been fired.

Everyone has a right to privacy and a private life outside of work. What that student did is wrong and we all know it. Our country is messed up enough and this is a prime example. Why are we punishing a person for their private life and not the snoop who picked up the phone that didn't belong to them??

I think that a teacher like any other person has a reasonable right to privacy. If the school had provided the equipment for the teacher to use professionally, the outcome would have bene very different

Apparently, this district likes to teach its students that not only is theft acceptable, but so is invasion of privacy.

I agree, the teacher is not in the wrong and the student must definitely be punished.

If the FBI can't access an iPhone then the student should not have accessed her phone. She did not intend or accidentally share the photo. It was stolen. I hope the boy's family and the school are held responsible for her salary until she gets a new job. She deserves an apology and a glowing recommendation but sadly this is in the media now and could follow her forever.

This teacher should get her job back, the student should be expelled and the principal should hand in his resignation.

The student did not have the right to circulate the photo. It does not matter if the teacher allowed students access to her phone in the past. At the most the teacher could have been reprimanded for her carelessness in leaving the photo on her phone but "forced" resignation seems a bit too far.

SHAME on the school district! You are punishing the wrong person. This woman has the right to privacy and you are betraying her.
