The only person not in the wrong is getting punished.

This is absolutely absurd. The idea that a victim of a crime could be forced to resign is beyond comprehension. This isn't even remotely acceptable. Forget the kid, he's young and dumb, put him in detention, slap on the hand, whatever. However, anybody involved with the decision to punish the teacher, in any way, should be fired immediately. They are depriving a completely innocent person's mandated right to the pursuit of happiness. She is fully capable of doing her job but is being prohibited from doing so because somebody stole a photo from her phone? This is beyond preposterous.

The statement is made that it is unlikely she will get her job back, which is a travesty. Start working to fire David Eubanks for incompetence.

Students need to start being held responsible for their actions. This kid knows what he did. He knows he shouldn't have done it. The teacher needs to be given a public apology from the student and superintendent. The student should also be expelled and have this placed on their permanent record (at the very least). Give our teachers the respect they deserve.

What is wrong with the school when a kid takes someone else's property, looks through it, blackmails the teacher, and get always without any punishment. The victim gets punished what a joke.

This is victim blaming, pure and simple. What the school did is unacceptable. The principle's comments about Ms. Arthur sharing the responsibility for keeping nude pictures on her own, private phone are outrageous and demonstrate a lack of respect for one's right to privacy. I sincerely hope that Ms. Arthur gets her job back, and that the school apologizes publically for the injustice done to her.

This teacher did nothing wrong and shouldn't have been fired. Sometimes, people are naked.

This teacher should not have lost her job over what a student did with her personal photos and phone. These students or student need to be held accountable for their actions.

The superintendent who fired her: "I think we have a right to privacy, but when we take inappropriate information or pictures, we had best make sure it remains private." Yeah, a phone is private property not meant to be stolen. So, by that logic, if someone broke into his house and found sexual polaroid pics of him he would have to be fired. They claim there was a breakdown in authority that allowed the theft to happen. If you leave your door unlocked and someone enters and steals things, it is still breaking and entering.

This is not the teacher's fault.

So if the people responsible for this decision had their houses broken into (God forbid), I guess that would be their fault too for neglecting to have less breakable windows, or not springing for a fancy security system? Since being victimized is apparently a crime and all.

While i understand that he's 16 and will make stupid mistakes, not punishing will only show him that what he did was OK. By saying that leaving her phone unattended for a moment "she made the inappropriate picture available to her students" is not right. By that logic, if a student used her phone to make a post threatening the president, it would be her fault.

Teachers shouldn't be punished for students' thefts.

Absolutely absurd. Now someone has to delete the entire contents of their phone every day before coming to work in case they leave it unattended for a moment and someone steals it? What if the pictures were on a private FB account but she had the link in her favorites? She had no intent to bring inappropriate pictures to work. The world lacks common sense.

David Eubanks is an absolutely disgusting excuse for a person. What kind of sociopathic person blames a victim for an attack on their personal privacy?
