The student was in the wrong. He picked up someone's private property without permissions and kept documentation of the teachers phone. Just because there is no lock in a bank valt, it doesn't make it okay for robbers to steal the banks money? Much us the same in this situation, the teacher made a careless mistake of leaving her phone out. It could be that she trusted her students to know not to touch or steal her phone. This is a direct violation of the teachers rights to expected privacy on her phone. (you do not lock your home door one night, because of this your house is robbed and children are raped. Are you to blame? of course not.) what the student did is sexual harassment to the teacher, by breaching her privacy, opening her phone and her apps with out her permission and sending explicit photos that was not mention for anyone else but her husband. Look at the staggering numbers of this petition, it is pretty clear who is in the right and who is in the wrong here. I think if this school is firing over something like this, she's lucky she's out of such an irresponsible, awful school.

The kid should be expelled, face criminal charges, and because the district can't employ that teacher any more he should be liable for her loss of income.

I have just written a scathing e-mail to the administration of the Union County schools calling the forced resignation to be an act of cowardice on the part of Mr. Eubanks. The administration and particularly the actual school Principal should be supporting the teacher and holding the real culprit responsible. The student should be expelled for theft: plain and simple. I live in Canada and we would fight for our teachers. They have more than enough with which to deal without having the legs cut out from underneath them from by so called colleagues> I applaud you students. Never give in something you believe in. Eventually the shame will be evident.

Disgusting. You do not blame the victim, you blame the perpetrator! The principal should have to resign for being so misogynistic, and blatantly sexist. Way to teach the student responsibility, Union, as isn't THAT a duty of the education system, too?!

I do not know anyone involved in this situation, but I do feel it was wrong for her to be fired. She did nothing wrong. The student picked up her phone, opened it, and looked through it. He should be expelled and face charges. She should be reinstated.

He should be punished not her

It's ridiculous to fire that teacher. The student should be charged with grand theft and charged with spreading that nude photo.

Punish the right person and put her back to work

This is absolutely absurd. I find it hard to believe that the body I am in every day could jeopardize my career if it is seen and found nude somewhere people shouldn't be looking.

This has a lawsuit written all over it. Firing the victim of theft.

Sickening. You can't even allow women to show their shoulders in school. How long are you going to protect perversion?

Imagine if you were in the teacher's shoes. Not only was she humiliated by the student which decided it was appropriate to pick up her phone, and even share her picture, she was embarrassed by her employers who decided to add injury to insult. I personally believe that this student violated her right to privacy as a human being, and the school violated her rights as well. That being said, reinstate her. Please. It's the only fair thing to do.

The student is obviously in the wrong here, not the teacher.
