When will common sense prevail. This teacher was not to blame. She must be reinstated.

If what on the news is true, Mrs. Arthur should not be forced to resign. She did nothing wrong. 1) What's wrong with taking some pics for her husband? 2) Why would letting students to use her phone (not to mention she didn't) make her liable to the release of those pics? 3) What does any of these has anything to do with her teaching?
What kind of freedom and privacy protection would we have if we let this kind of injustice happen in America.
Again if what being said here is the total truth, I feel deeply sorry for those students and parents who have such a (interim) superintendent for their school district.

She does not deserve to lose her job because she has a good relationship with her husband and has a student who doesn't respect boundaries.

I guess any teacher who ever leaves a classroom should be fired, even if they just get lucky and no one invades their privacy?....................

That superintendent should be fired instead of Mrs. Arthur.

As a high school parent who lives in South Carolina, I cannot stand for seeing her being forced to resign. Yes some kids use the teachers phones, why? Because they trust a kid and they need to do something related to a club or project with that class. Just because this happens 1 time, a kid uses it for the wrong reasons without that teachers knowledge should not be used against her. It's appalling to see a superintendent do this and ignore a petition saying to reinstate her. Good luck in this fight, I will share it.
(Also she should be compensated for time lost as she was basically threatened to resign.)

Why do the victims always get the blame? That kid was old enough to know what he was doing was wrong..

The student should be expelled and Mrs. Arthur rehired with any back pay. The school superintendent should issue an apology to Mrs. Arthur for his wrongful portrayal of Mrs. Arthur.

Maybe there should be another petition to get this Superintendent's job since he can not understand when an injustice has been done.

This is a continuation of the rape culture. If a woman is sexually violated or if her privacy is violated it is not her fault, ever. It is the fault of the perpetrator. The police realize this. The school board should realize this too. The teacher should suffer no consequences.

Such a violation to a person's privacy should not discriminate, regardless of age, sex, or relashionship.

It is good the boy who did this has remorse. It makes no sense that Mrs. Arthur had to resign. The boy was of age to be held responsible 100 percent.

Terrible decision, another case of the tail is wagging the dog. Are people not allowed to have a life? What's up with sending your husband or partner a naked image. It's her private property that the student had no right to touch and go into locked or not. I really hope the head resigns and the student is taken to book on this.
Apoyo a la docente!
I'm from mexico and i agree with this petition.
