Her cellphone and the pictures enclosed in it, locked or not, are her business. The moment that student started invading the teacher's privacy the student was in the wrong.

You need to be more understanding of the teacher in this matter. I don't care how much paperwork you and any other administrator in this school. This picture was stolen from her, by some 16 year old punk who needs to learn that life will kick him in the ass if this is the way he's going to act. This should not reflect on her in a negative light at all. what a way to teach your students... Nobody student in this system is ever ever told they're in the wrong until their employer in 20 years tells him to clean out his desk, your a looser. Do some thinking on this one, its a no brainer.

I am from South Carolina and this is embarrassing. There's a reason we're the worst when it comes to education people... I went to public school. The system is ridiculous. The best teachers are let go for trivial or inconsequential reasons, and the few that stay are constantly bombarded with a ridiculous amount of oversight. On the other hand, the teachers that don't care except on evaluation days fly under the radar for years and make students hate to learn. We have to fix this broken stystem, starting with cases like this!

This is garbage. I refuse to stay silent while this is happening. The student should be disciplined and should learn NOT to touch other people's things. Rehire that teacher and admit your mistake.

You have robbed this teacher of her privacy and her means to survive. You can only undo so much after parading her online. At least let her continue to teach. Give this woman that part of her life back.

This student committed THEFT and then used the resources gained by that theft to threaten and ruin a teacher. If the local authorities won't bring criminal charges against those involved, she should files a civil suit against those involved.
