Is this woman is being punished for having a normal intimate relationship with her husband? What world do we live in.

Student should be held responsible. It's beyond ridiculous to say the teacher should've had her phone locked, when she shouldn't be expecting a student to be so malicious and steal her phone and personal images! The school should punish the student, the teacher should be reinstated. It's clear from the response to this petition where the majority stands on this issue, and we stand with the teacher!

Ridiculous to blame the teacher for the students breach of her privacy. The boy should be prosecuted for his actions

The student shouldn't have been into her phone in the first place. Plus given todays climate odds are that damn kid saw a picture of a naked woman before he even saw her. GET OVER IT.

I support this petition following on the facts as they have been presented. There may be information not disclosed which would render me unsympathetic. If this information exists, it is incumbent upon those defending this decision to come forward with it.

It is crazy to me that she was forced to resign over this and the student received no punishment. It shouldn't have mattered if the phone was unlocked. The student should have been punished for his actions, not her.

As a former teacher, I am appalled by the actions of the interim superintendent. Her phone is her PRIVATE property; the picture was for her husband's eyes only- for Valentine's Day- again her PRIVATE property. The student breached her privacy, in addition to taking something that did not belong to him, even if it was taken temporarily. Isn't that theft? Mrs. Arthur felt pressured to resign, and the student has, as yet, received no consequences for his actions. There is an old expression: "The inmates are running the asylum." That certainly seems to apply to this particular situation at Union County High School. Mrs. Arthur should be reinstated immediately, and the interim superintendent should issue a public retraction and apology. Additionally, the student should receive some kind of consequence for his actions.

Mrs. Arthur deserves her job back. She hasn't done anything wrong at all, the boy planned this and this is what he wanted to happen and the school board is letting this happen. Mrs. Arthur is not only an outstanding teacher but a great person also. She see good in every student she teach and she wants them all to succeed in life. A lot of people take her niceness for granted but she continues to stay positive. When others see you doing good, they want to see you fail and this exactly what this boy wanted. Don't worry Mrs Arthur, God has good things in store for you, you just wait.

This is absolutely ridiculous. The student is absolutely in the wrong. He violated her privacy and should be reprimanded. Good luck getting any more quality teachers in your system with such an adversarial superintendent.

I may be a student in a different state but finding out that this happened to a lady who wanted to show her husband she loved him, and was fired due to a brat of a kid is unacceptable. If she is a good teacher it is not her fault someone went through her phone. She does her best for the school and doesn't deserve this. So what if she didn't have a lock on her phone, THERE IS NO RULE THAT SAYS HAVE A LOCK ON YOUR PHONE OR THAT YOU CANT HAVE PICTURES OF YOURSELF ON IT. In fact the kid should be severely punished for going through private property, that's breaking several laws.
